The
Aegis Trust helps carry out justice
BBC News - March 16, 2011
While
meeting today with James Smith, M.D., co-founder and CEO of
the Aegis Trust, Dr. Smith shared with IWJ exciting news of
the first arrest under the UK's recently signed genocide,
war crimes, and crimes against humanity law. The Aegis Trust
was highly instrumental in the passage of this law, which
allows for the prosecution of perpetrators going back to 1991,
10 years more than allowed by the previous law.
Smith
said he is delighted with the strong message the arrest sends
to people who committed such atrocities, as well as to the
survivors and family members. "The UK will not be a safe
haven for these criminals, and is determined to bring them
to justice." (More)
